Everton have benefited from their talented academy and that should continue next year.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce is seen during the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Everton at St. James Park on December 13, 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Everton are in resurgent form under their new manager Sam Allardyce and the Toffees boss is likely to be keeping a close eye on the club’s next generation.

The Toffees continue to benefit from their talented young prospects with the likes of Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies proving their worth, but they are just the tip of the iceberg.

Here we take a look at three Everton teenagers you should keep a close eye on in 2018.

Lewis Gibson

He may only be 17, but centre-back Lewis Gibson made headlines when he swapped Newcastle United for Everton last summer, for a fee that could rise to £6million.

That speaks volumes about the youngster’s potential and it will be interesting to see how soon he is pushing for first-team recognition.

A debut in the cup competitions is not beyond the realms of possibility despite his tender age.

Morgan Feeney

Fellow defender Morgan Feeney is a year older than Gibson and he featured twice in Everton’s ill-fated Europa League campaign this season.

While the Toffees fell short in the competition, the experience will have done Feeney plenty of good and the tournament allowed caretaker boss Davi Unsworth to give some of the club’s next generation their first taste of senior action.

Shayne Lavery

Striker Shayne Lavery was part of the match day squad for Everton’s match against Apollon Limassol back in the summer and his goal-scoring form for the under-18s means he is one to watch.

A regular scorer and provider at that level, he is now looking to make wave with the Toffees’ under-23s and, if he does well, a chance with the senior side could be on the cards in the next 12 months.
