Everton have endured a much more underwhelming season in the Premier League than many would have expected.

With many pre-season predictions that Everton would be the team to break up the top six in the Premier League proving to be well wide of the mark, it appears that big changes could be in the offing at Goodison Park over the summer.
The Toffees will need a brilliant late run to finish seventh in the table while they only find themselves 10 points clear of 17th place West Ham. The fans will probably be hoping for major changes amongst the squad.
So which players may now be playing for their futures with Everton? Here are three players currently featuring regularly in the matchday squads who arguably need to make a positive impact in the remaining weeks of the campaign if they hope to have a similar role next season…

Morgan Schneiderlin
Signed for £20 million from Manchester United in January 2017 – fee reported by the Guardian – Schneiderlin has barely been seen out on the pitch lately, but has been an unused substitute frequently since the turn of the year. If he gets another chance before the campaign ends, he needs to show that he can still be the player that impressed so many while he was at Southampton and broke into the France national team before heading to Old Trafford.

Ashley Williams
Having been poor for much of the campaign, the 33-year-old is being written off by most Everton fans. The former Swansea defender was a colossus at the Liberty Stadium, but has failed to transfer that form to Goodison. He is currently suspended after receiving a red card against Burnley, and at the moment, most Toffees supporters would probably not mind if that proves to be his last appearance for the club. With the other centre-backs struggling however, it looks unlikely that that will be the case.
Michael Keane
When Everton spent £30 million on Michael Keane last summer – fee reported by BBC Sport – few would have imagined that the move would turn out as poorly as it has. Keane has really struggled to live up to the fee, and the Everton hierarchy would be forgiven for trying to offload him this summer in case his value drops further in the future. He could definitely still be a success on Merseyside, but there surely need to be some glimmers of quality before the season finishes.
