HITC Sport takes a look at three players from the Dutch Eredivisie which Wolverhampton Wanderers could pursue this summer.
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert
After what has been a fairly miserable season, most Wolverhampton Wanderers fans will be looking forward to seeing the current campaign come to an end. A dreadful start under Walter Zenga forced the Wolves hierarchy to make a managerial change, and now Paul Lambert is trying to pick up the pieces and create a Wolves side that can potentially push for promotion next season.
In order to do this, Wolverhampton Wanderers will need to recruit in the summer, and with this in mind, HITC Sport has been taking a look at some potential transfer targets for Paul Lambert’s side from the Dutch Eredivisie. But do you agree with our picks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
1. Karim El Ahmadi – Feyenoord

The former Aston Villa midfielder has proved many of the doubters wrong after returning to the Netherlands with Feyenoord, and has played a massive part in the Dutch side’s push for the Eredivisie title this season. Tough in the tackle and an excellent playmaker, El Ahmadi would provide Wolves with a much firmer base in which to build their attacking play, and could well be tempted back by a move to the midlands, to prove those who didn’t rate him during his time at Aston Villa wrong.
2. Sven Van Beek – Feyenoord

The promising young Dutch defender has fallen behind in the pecking order at Feyenoord this season, but there’s no doubting that Sven Van Beek is set for a big future in the game. Tall, strong and dangerous from set pieces, Van Beek would be an excellent and potentially slightly cheaper signing for Wolves should they look to boost their defensive options this summer.
3. Bertrand Traore (Ajax/Chelsea)

As his loan spell with Dutch giants Ajax looks to come to an end, could Wolverhampton Wanderers make an ambitious bid to bring in Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore on loan next season? After the success that Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has had this season with Bristol City, Traore may well feel he picked the wrong division to go and prove himself in this season, and Paul Lambert would be smart to offer the striker another chance next season in the Championship.
