HITC Sport takes a look at three players from the Dutch Eredivisie which Celtic could pursue this summer.

After yet another impressive Scottish top flight title, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will now likely be preparing plans for next season, as the club look to retain their title and make even more of a push in the Champions League.

To do this, the Celtic manager will know he needs to improve his squad, not just with the top players from in and around the Scottish top flight, but with competitive and impressive talents from across Europe’s top divisions.

With this in mind, HITC Sport has taken a look at players for the top division in Dutch football, the Eredivisie, and highlighted some players that Celtic should take a look at this summer. But have we missed anyone out? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!

1. Davy Klaasen – Ajax

The Ajax captain has been a real warrior for the Dutch giants over the last few years, and could end up being the perfect long-term replacement for Celtic’s Scott Brown. Powerful, fast, hard in the tackle and gifted at scoring important goals, Davy Klaassen is one of the top talents in Dutch football and will likely be snapped up by a big European club at some point. Would Brendan Rodgers be smart to sneak in first before another club put up competition?

2. Jetro Willems – PSV

The Dutch left-back joined PSV back in 2011 from Sparta Rotterdam, and hasn’t looked back since, making 198 appearances and scoring 12 goals, as well as making 33 assists. Fast and strong, Willems would be an excellent addition to any side playing Champions League football, and could turn Celtic into an even more dangerous side, as well as strengthening them at the back. At just 22-years-old, Willems also has many of his best years ahead of him.

3. Nicolai Jorgensen – Feyenoord

After joining Feyenoord in the summer from Danish side FC Copenhagen, striker Nicolai Jorgensen has been in fine form, scoring 23 goals in 37 games. Standing at 6ft 3, Jorgensen is a target man, and could offer Celtic something up front which they don’t currently have. Moussa Dembele has been an excellent goalscorer for the club this season, but is not a towering threat in the air, nor is striker Leigh Griffiths. Jorgensen could offer a lethal option off the bench, giving Celtic another game-plan should things not be going well.
