Everton manager Ronald Koeman
Everton manager Ronald Koeman could be looking to bolster his midfield in the summer.
The Dutchman probably will require a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder if James McCarthy and Ross Barkley are sold.
Koeman will be backed by the Everton hierarchy to make necessary incursions in the summer, and he should look to scour the Dutch transfer market to sign quality players for his team.
Davy Klaassen – Ajax
Dubbed as the new ‘Dennis Bergkamp’ for quite a while because of similar playing styles, Klassen has gone from strength to strength since making his debut for the Ajax first team in 2013.
The Ajax skipper is primarily a central attacking midfielder who tends to move higher up the pitch to support the main striker.
His best attribute is passing, and finding the right players through deadly through balls. But what he has really improved is his finishing, with the 24-year-old scoring 19 goals for Ajax this season in all competitions.
Bart Ramselaar – PSV Eindhoven
The 20-year-old midfielder is a terrific young talent, blessed with an eye for a through ball and dribbling skills. In a way, his playing style resembles that of Real Madrid’s Isco, and one could feel that here is a player who can go a long distance in his career.
He is versatile enough to play in multiple positions, but mainly loves to play in the central midfield where he dictates the tempo of the game.
Tonny Vilhena – Feyenoord
At 22, Vilhena has already played over 170 matches for the Dutch side. The Feyenoord’s #10 is a fine player and could go on to reach top class level if he is properly developed.
With bundles of energy in midfield, tidy in possession, and a penchant for long range efforts, Vilhena is comfortable both in central midfield and playing on the left.
What amazes about him is his defensive contribution to the side – the amount of tackles (2.7 per whoscored) he makes. He is far from being the finished product but would be a good signing for Everton.
