Josh Onomah, the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, has only played a minute for Sheffield Wednesday since early November.

Sheffield Wednesday’s autumn continues to go from bad to worse.
After six defeats from their last eight matches, before which they were sixth in the Championship, the Owls have now been rocked by yet another lay-off for their influential forward Fernando Forestieri, who is set to miss the next six-to-eight weeks with a hamstring problem.
Potentially worse still, there are doubts that another key player, Barry Bannan, will start Saturday’s South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United, having sat out training on Thursday with a leg issue.
Jos Luhukay’s squad is already without long-term absentees Gary Hooper, Kieran Lee and Sam Winnall, as they seek a return to the division’s top half.
The Dutchman has tinkered often throughout his tenure as Sheffield Wednesday manager, and it is likely that changes will be made even if Bannan is passed fit, following Saturday’s 4-2 hammering at Blackburn, although breaking up a defensive trio – comprising Tom Lees, Michael Hector and Jordan Thorniley – seems counter productive.

Ashley Baker, Matt Penney and Josh Onomah could all make returns – however, the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s chances will almost certainly rest on Bannan’s availability.
