Burnley have reportedly had a bid turned down for Wood, and would be wise to consider the following Cardiff City, Fulham and Birmingham City stars.
Burnley are in the market for a new striker, after selling Andre Gray to Watford this week.
According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the Clarets have already failed with an attempt to sign Chris Wood from Leeds United.
So should Sean Dyche’s men gamble on the following Cardiff City, Fulham and Birmingham City stars if Wood cannot be lured to Turf Moor?
Kenneth Zohore (Cardiff City)

Zohore struggled to get a look in until Neil Warnock arrived at the Cardiff City Stadium in late 2016, but went on to score 12 goals in 25 games for the veteran boss last season. The Dane is already off the mark in 2017-18 and that sort of momentum could make him ideal for Burnley, who are short of pace without Gray in attack. Not only does Zohore have it in abundance, he’s also 6ft 3 – making him a threat aerially as well.
Sone Aluko (Fulham)

Not a prolific scorer but again, someone whose speed could come in use to Burnley. The 28-year-old excelled while playing off big man Chris Martin at Fulham last season, scoring nine goals and creating 12 in all competitions, and could thrive alongside either Vokes or Walters. Reading have been linked with a move for the former Blackpool loanee, with an £8 million fee mooted.
Che Adams (Birmingham City)

A potential Gray in the making, Adams too has risen from non-league football to impress in the Football League. After a modest debut season at Birmingham, the pacy 21-year-old has started brightly this time out, scoring three goals in his first two outings. Derby had a bid turned down for him this week, but Burnley could have more luck considering their Premier League status and greater financial resources.
