Celtic have a history of giving youth a chance and there are plenty more waiting in line.

Celtic’s academy continues to produce young talent at an impressive rate and Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers will no doubt be keeping a close eye on their progress.

Having already given some of the next generation a chance to prove their worth, the Celtic manager should continue in that vein over the next 12 months.

Here we take a look at three Celtic teenagers to watch out for in 2018:

Jack Aitchison of Celtic celebrates scoring during the UEFA Youth Champions League match between Celtic and Valencia at Celtic Park on February 10, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Jack Aitchison

Still only 17, striker Jack Aitchison will be hoping to push on in 2018 and build on his three senior Celtic appearances, and he certainly has the talent to ensure he does not remain in the Bhoys’ under-20 side for long.

With another impressive UEFA Youth League campaign under his belt, the prolific teenager is the real deal.

Michael Johnston

Left winger Michael Johnston made his debut for Celtic last season and turned out for the full 90 minutes against Kilmarnock back in October.

He has talent in abundance and is one of the few players in Celtic’s young ranks that truly deserves the tag wonder-kid.

Michael Johnston of Celtic vies with Josh Jeffries of Rangers during The Scottish FA Youth Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on April 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Robbie Deas

Centre-back is a notoriously tough position in which teenager to break through, but 17-year-old Robbie Deas is one for Celtic fans to pin their hopes on.

Given the Bhoys’ problems at the back, it will be interesting to see if Rodgers turns to any of the club’s next generation in the dead-rubbers that are likely to kick off in the final few weeks of the season if everything goes the club’s way prior to that.
