Wolverhampton Wanderers host one of the Championship’s surprise packages so far in Brentford this Saturday.

Walter Zenga’s side strengthened heavily in the summer, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a few more.

These three Bees stars would be welcome additions…

Daniel Bentley

While there’s not a great deal wrong with Carl Ikeme, Bentley is fast proving to be one of the Championship’s most promising shot-stoppers. Brentford currently boast the league’s tightest defence with only five goals conceded – four fewer than Wolves.

Ryan Woods

The Black Country club added both Romain Saiss and Prince Oniangue to their midfield ranks this summer, but Woods, who hails from nearby Shropshire, has been mightily impressive so far, and has scored better than any Wolves midfielder in terms of touches per game, accurate passes per game and final third passes per game (Opta). Combined with a more destructive partner such as Saiss, Zenga would have himself a fearsome pairing.

Scott Hogan

Call me Captain Obvious if you will, but the recovering Nouha Dicko aside, Wolves are short of a proven goalscorer at Championship level. Hogan, meanwhile, is tied with Tammy Abraham as the division’s leading scorer this term, after missing almost the entirety of last season.
