Boxing Day has traditionally provided plenty of goals and entertainment in the Premier League throughout the years. Tottenham Hotspur have had plenty of exciting matches the day after Christmas. Here are memorable Boxing Day matches for Spurs fans to savour.
Spurs 5-1 Fulham – 2007
A goal fest a White Hart Lane in 2007 as Robbie Keane and Tom Huddlestone both scored braces to help Spurs on their way to a resounding victory against a manager-less Fulham side who were 17th.
A Keane tap in and a Huddlestone pile-driver ensured Juande Ramos’ side were 2-0 up at the break. Clint Dempsey brought Fulham back into it before lighting struck again with Keane and Huddlestone both netting again to take the game away from the Cottagers.
Tom Huddlestone netted a brace against Fulham in 2007.
Jermain Defoe put the icing on the cake but the real highlight for Spurs fans was the long awaited return of Ledley King from a serious injury and he put in a fine display. The victory moved Spurs up to 13th and it was Ramos’ fourth in the league since he’d replaced Martin Jol two months prior. He collected 14 points from his first nine league matches in charge.

Aston Villa 0-4 Spurs – 2012
Spurs produced the perfect away performance on Boxing Day in 2012 as Villa were battered, largely thanks to Gareth Bale. After an uneventful first half, Defoe got set Andre Villas-Boas side on their way on 57 minutes before the Welsh wizard took over.

He finished of a deadly counter attack on the hour mark before a thunderous strik from an Aaron Lennon pass and a tap in from a Gylfi Sigurdsson cut back ensured Bale went home with the match ball. The goals saw his league total rise to nine and Tottenham climbed into the top four. Bale went on to win the PFA Player of the Year award and scored 26 goals in all competitions.

They bounced back emphatically as David Ginola scored his first goal of the season before Steffen Iversen and a Tim Sherwood brace ensured Spurs earned three points. It was as comfortable a victory as they could have wished for although fans weren’t completely satisfied with George Graham. The former Arsenal boss was jeered when he took off Ginola midway through the second half and fans were still unhappy with the lack of apology for their 6-1 trouncing four days prior.
