Celtic should look at bringing the Chelsea defender and Newcastle United midfielder to Parkead in January, as well as Russian hitman Aleksandr Kokorin.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will surely be keen to bolster his ranks at Parkhead during the January transfer window, in a bid to guide his side to their eighth consecutive league title.
The problem for the Northern Irishman, however, is that it is highly doubtful that he will have lavish amounts of money to spend, so he will have to be thrifty in his player recruitment.
With this in mind, here are three potential targets for Celtic, and with their contracts set to expire in the summer, they could be available for a cut-price fee next month…
Gary Cahill:

The experienced Chelsea man has hardly played this season, but that isn’t to say that he doesn’t still possess plenty of quality.
At 33-years-old, the 6ft 4in centre-back is arguably past his best, but he would still have plenty to offer the Hoops.
Cahill is strong in the air, and is a real leader. He is also a wonderful reader of the game, and he would be a great addition for Celtic, especially considering their current woes in the central defensive department.
Mo Diame:

The Newcastle man is a real powerhouse of a central midfielder, and he would add a certain level of dynamism and drive to the Glasgow giant’s engine room.
Like Cahill, the Senegalese ace’c contract is due to expire int he summer, so Celtic could surely tempt the Toon into selling.
At 31, Diame still possesses plenty of energy, and he would be a fantastic addition for Celtic.
Aleksandr Kokorin:

One key area where Celtic need to strengthen in January is their centre-forward department, with Leigh Griffiths out for the foreseeable future and Odsonne Edouard currently out injured.
And Kokorin could be just the man for the job.
The Russian international can play anywhere along the front line, and he would add a real cutting edge to the Hoops attacking play.
Whilst it might be hard to sign all three, Rodgers should certainly explore the possibility of bringing them to Parkhead.
Celtic are expected to go on and win the league this season, and if they sign any of the above mentioned players, they could very well be unstoppable.
