Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has stressed the need to sign an attacking midfielder in January.
Rafael Benitez has praised Ayoze Perez, saying the Spaniard is an important player for Newcastle.
The former Liverpool manager praised Perez’s versatility, but added that he would still be looking to sign a no 10 in the January transfer window.

Steven Davies (Southampton)
The 32-year-old Southampton skipper is a vastly experienced player. He joined the Saints in 2012 from Rangers, and has made 200 appearances for the Saints in all competitions.
The Northern Ireland international can play as an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder, and can bring his leadership qualities into the dressing room.

The Italy international is a versatile attacking player, who can also play as a left sided midfielder.
He joined Villarreal from Sampdoria in 2016 and scored 10 goals in 33 La Liga appearances last season. Soriano has made only three substitute appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season, clocking 77 minutes of action.
Alejandro Gomes (Atalanta)
He would be a cracker of a signing if Benitez can lure him to St James’ Park. A class player, who can play as an attacking midfielder or a second striker, he can score goals and also provide assists for others.
Strong in dribbling, set-piece ability, and finding key passes, the 29-year-old would be a fantastic addition to the Magpies squad.
