With the January transfer window now open, HITC Sport looks at three key areas in which Alex Neil may be looking for reinforcements.
Despite a shaky start to their Championship campaign, Norwich City’s form looks to be on the rise as they enter one of the most pivotal months in the season. After a 3-0 thumping of Derby County, Alex Neil’s men look to have unlocked that fight and desire that they became so famous for in 2015, and now Canaries fans will be hoping Neil can add to the side to reinforce their promotion push.
With that in mind, we take a look at three key areas where Leeds United might be looking to recruit, to either add something different to their team, or to reinforce an already solid base.

A New Central Defender
At times this season, Norwich have looked fairly shaky at the back, and their lack of pace in their central defenders has been a problem when coming up against the fast and lively strikers that litter the Championship. Knowing they need a bit more speed at the back, Norwich City might fancy a Championship raid, potentially looking at Sheffield Wednesday captain Tom Lees, or Wolves defender Danny Batth.

A Central Midfielder
Despite the impressive pairing of Howson and Tettey, Norwich City are a bit light on bodies in the centre of midfield. Though Howson and Tettey offer a lot defensively, both midfielders don’t contribute much on the goal-scoring front, and this may well force Alex Neil to search for another attacking option. With competition hotting up for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury, as well as the much sought-after Barnsley midfielder, Conor Hourihane, Neil may have to move quickly to get the right player in.

A New Full-Back
Similarly to their problems at centre-back, Norwich City are lacking a bit of pace in the full-back positions, as well as cover should a play get injured. With rumours also linking star left-back Robbie Brady with a move away from the club, Alex Neil could potentially dip into the loan market for a new defender, with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings and Manchester United’s Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, formerly at Wolves, available for loan.
