With the January transfer window now open, where will Burnley be looking to improve their squad?
As they fight to ensure their Premier League survival this season, Burnley manager Sean Dyche will be desperate to improve his squad during the January transfer window. Despite spending plentifully in the summer, the Clarets still need to be careful not to drop down towards the relegation zone, as they look to continue their impressive start to their return to the Premier League.
With that in mind, we take a look at three areas Burnley will be looking to add to this month, as the race to stay in the Premier League hots up.

Cover at Full Back
As one of the best defensive sides in the division this season, Sean Dyche knows the importance of reinforcing his team’s options at the back, and is likely to look to add a new defender in this transfer window. With Stephen Ward now in his thirties, Burnley may well look to bring in a loan signing at full-back, to cover any potential injuries, possibly looking at Liverpool defender Joe Gomez as an option until the end of the season.

A New Winger
Despite the signing of Icelandic international Johann Berg Gudmundsson in the summer, Burnley could still do with another option in the wide areas. Relying heavily on both Gudmundsson and George Boyd, Burnley are in need of more attacking options from the wide areas, and may turn their attention abroad for new signings. With PSV winger Luciano Narsingh potentially available, Burnley may look to bring in the Dutchman, who has been drawing the attention of a number of European clubs. Alternatively, Burnley may also look to the Championship, with Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert performing superbly this season.

An Extra Forward
Burnley have done a fantastic job this season of making the most of the chances they create. One of the hallmarks of a Sean Dyche side is to stay resolute defensively, and make the most of the little amount of chances that come their way, especially against the bigger teams, and his Burnley side have done a great job of this so far. However, with pressure being piled on stirkers Andre Grey and Sam Vokes, as well as the departure of Lukas Jutkiewicz to Birmingham City, Sean Dyche might be on the look out for a new striker. With Liverpool’s Danny Ings still injured, a loan deal is likely to be off the cards, and could force them to look at Championship options. With Norwich’s Cameron Jerome struggling to get starts, could the former Stoke man be the answer?
