With the January transfer window now open, where will Bristol City be looking to improve their squad?
After a fantastic start to their Championship campaign, Bristol City have gone remarkably off the boil of late. Dropping quickly towards the relegation zone, City boss Lee Johnson will be desperate to inject some new life into his squad this month, as he seeks the change that will spark the fight back into the South West club.
With that in mind, HITC Sport takes a look at three areas Johnson might be looking to add to and strengthen this month, to either improve certain areas, or replace those who might be on their way out the door.

A New Goalkeeper
Opinions are split on Bristol City goalkeeper, Frank Fielding. A former England youth international, Fielding often flits from performances of the sensational to the sorry, and this might force City to keep an eye out for a new goalkeeper in this window. Former Swindon Town goalkeeper Wes Foderingham might be one option for City, who is now playing his trade in Rangers, but the Robins would face a tough task trying to prise him away from one of Scotland’s biggest clubs.

A New Winger
Despite the signing of Oxford United’s highly rated youngster, Callum O’Dowda, Bristol City are still in need of more penetration down the right hand side of the pitch. With Luke Freeman not firing on all cylinders this season, City have often been forced to use full-backs on the right wing, and therefore we think Lee Johnson will be on the look out for a right winger this month. Barnsley winger Adam Hammil, who used to play under Johnson when he was managing the Tykes, could be put to good use. Or alternatively, the Robins could try and bring Brentford wide-man Jota, who has just returned from a lengthy injury, to the club.

A New Forward
Despite the signing of Bosnian international Milan Duric, many Bristol City fans are still keen to see the club bring in another striker. After losing star man Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa in the summer, Bristol City are yet to properly replace the forward, and with Tammy Abraham’s loan set to expire in the summer, Lee Johnson will most likely be keeping his eye out for available forwards. One option Johnson could look at is out-of-favour Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban, or City could potentially launch an ambitious bid for Jordan Rhodes of Middlesbrough.
