Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Jack Harrison and how close he came to joining Leicester City.

As The Athletic reported, Harrison was at Leicester’s training ground on deadline day in the hopes that he would be signing for The Foxes.

In the end, Leeds pulled the plug on the deal, deciding to keep Harrison at Leeds, and, according to Bailey, Leicester City were furious about this. In fact, Bailey went as far as to say that Leicester thought a deal was done.

Leicester fuming

Bailey shared what he knows about this failed deal.

“They made room for him by sending Ayoze Perez back to Spain and Albrighton moved on as well. Albrighton is a key figure, I’m surprised they let him go. Rodgers wanted Harrison and thought it was done. Suddenly Leeds recalled him. Leicester were furious that this happened and Harrison’s future is up in the air now,” Bailey said.

Every right to be

Bailey says that Leicester were furious with this sequence of events, and, to be honest, they have every right to be.

The Foxes made plans with Harrison in mind. They let Perez and Albrighton go, and now they’ve been left short.

It’s truly infuriating when something like this happens, and, realistically, it could be the difference between relegation and safety.

Make no mistake about it, Leicester are looking over their shoulders, and their lack of depth out wide is now a glaring issue at the club.

Don’t be surprised if Leeds and Leicester’s relationship is now soured going forwards.
