Ross McCrorie has shone at Ibrox since his breakthrough into the Rangers starting line-up.

Former Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson has told the latest Heart and Hands podcast, hosted by David Edgar, that Ross McCrorie can go on to be a huge asset for both Rangers and Scotland.
McCrorie, 19, has become one of the first names on Graeme Murty’s team sheet this season, after first breaking into the side at centre-back before being remoulded into a holding midfielder.
The Gers academy product, who recently signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal to remain at Ibrox until 2022, is arguably the most important cog in Murty’s midfield diamond as he marshals the space between defence and midfield.

Thomson, who played for Rangers for three years between 2007 and 2010, claimed that McCrorie could remain at Ibrox instead of being tempted with a move and become a star – doing the same in the navy blue of Scotland.
“I’m a big big fan of him. Him and Holt is a new experience, but these are challenges that will face Ross. He is there to be shot at,” Thomson said.
“He’s a young boy, but he has to have the belief that he can play with the best, and that he can beat them. So far, so good. He’s got a great attitude and has a great appreciation for the game. He can be whatever he wants to be.
“He’ll be a huge asset for club and country.”

McCrorie has made 18 Rangers appearances in all competitions this season, helping the Gers keep five clean sheets and even scoring himself in a 3-0 win over Partick Thistle at Ibrox.
He is currently in Florida with the rest of the Rangers side as they prepare to face Brazilian sides Atletico Mineiro and Corinthians on January 12 and 13th, before returning to face minnows Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup on the 21st.
