Rangers received a bid of £8million from China for striker Alfredo Morelos.

Former Rangers striker Steven Thompson has told BBC Sportscene Extra’s Facebook Live channel that the Gers should have driven Alfredo Morelos “to the airport” upon receiving an £8million bid for his services.
Sky Sports claim Chinese Super League club Beijing Renhe submitted the seven-figure offer only for Rangers to reject a move, as Graeme Murty remains desperate to keep his top scorer at Ibrox.
Morelos’ form has been exceptional despite his age this season, scoring 13 goals in 27 league and cup appearances and remains first choice above Eduardo Herrera and Jason Cummings.

Thompson believes the Gers made the wrong decision regarding Morelos and says the club should have immediately taken the former HJK Helsinki ace to the airport. He also predicted Saturday’s clash against Hibernian.
“He should’ve been driven to the airport for £8million pounds,” Thompson said. “He should ave gone, I don’t know if you’ll get a similar fee for him.
“They got the job done at Fraserburgh, but Hibernian will be a real test. I’m gonna go for a Rangers win, 2-1.”

Morelos has a contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2021, but his future is the talk of many pundits and fans alike with debates centring around his actual value.
He is expected to start for the Gers on Saturday at Ibrox after missing Wednesday night’s Scottish Cup win over Highland League minnows Fraserburgh, which saw Josh Windass score a hat-trick in a 3-0 win.
