Kieran Trippier of Tottenham Hotspur warms up prior to

Reports have been circulating over this past week that Tottenham are prepared to sell Kieran Trippier this summer, with Napoli and Atletico Madrid thought to be leading the race to sign the right-back, according to a report from the Sun.

The 28-year-old has endured a really difficult campaign with Spurs this season, and should the north London outfit receive a substantial bid for his services, it might just be in their best interest to let him go.

Should Tottenham sell Trippier, however, Mauricio Pochettino will obviously have to bring in an able-bodied replacement, and a useful option for them could be Paris-Saint Germain’s Thomas Meunier.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Spurs in January, with the Telegraph reporting that Pochettino is a big fan of the Belgian right-back, but that move obviously failed to materialise.

Tottenham must surely go back in for Meunier this summer, however, and he would undoubtedly be a big upgrade on Trippier.

The PSG ace is extensively experience din playing at the very highest level, having won two league titles in France, and earning 36 international caps for Belgium.

Meunier would fit right in at Spurs, what with his attacking mindset, but he would also provide more defensive solidarity down the right hand flank.

According to a report from French publication Le 10 Sport, PSG are open to selling the 27-year-old this summer, and Tottenham should not hesitate to bring him to north London.
