The Monaco man would be more than capable of replacing the Liverpool ace, should he leave Anfield.
Reds boss Jürgen Klopp has stated on more than one occasion this summer that he will not entertain any offers for Philippe Coutinho, with Barcelona hovering in the wings.
Following Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain, however, the Catalonians will surely step up their interest in the Brazilian, and it could be hard to resist the advances of a club of Barca’s ilk.
If Klopp does eventually sanction the 25-year-old’s departure from Liverpool, he would have to find an able bodied replacement, and who better than Monaco ace Thomas Lemar.

The 21-year-old played predominantly as a left winger for the Ligue 1 champions last term, scoring nine goals and registering 10 assists in 34 league outings in the process.
The France international can play anywhere along the front-line, however, and could form part of an exciting new-look Reds front four, flanked by Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on either side of him, sitting just behind either Roberto Firmino or Daniel Sturridge.
Lemar has a direct style of play, and possesses an impressive engine, which would see him fit perfectly into Klopp’s high intensity pressing style.
He is also technically brilliant, with a keen eye for a killer pass. The Monaco man is no slouch in front of goal either, and is clinical when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.
The French side value the 21-year-old at a staggering £80 million, according to the Mirror, but that should not present a problem for the Merseyside outfit, if they receive the reported £100 million plus that they would expect for Coutinho’s services.
And if Klopp does indeed manage to bring Lemar to Anfield, what a signing it could turn out to be.
