Sam Allardyce has been strongly linked to the managerial vacancy at Everton.

Allardyce is currently considered among the favourites to take over at Everton, as the Merseyside club search for Ronald Koeman’s successor.
But Hitzlsperger claims that Allardyce should be looked in favour of a more exciting appointment.
He said: “Unfortunately owners these days go for safety. You wish that there was more inspiration.
“A young English manager who plays a better style would be better. He’s not going to get you in the top six, is he?”

Whether Allardyce will be given the Everton job still remains unclear, as there seems to be some negotiations needed to be done between the two parties.

Everton see Allardyce as an emergency measure, as they look to avoid relegation this season.
The Toffees are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table, after what has been a disappointing campaign to date.
