The Leeds United stopper was not good enough against Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has been speaking to BBC Radio Leeds about his goalkeeper’s performance against Sheffield Wednesday.
Felix Wiedwald had a ‘mare against the Owls, conceding three goals and setting the ball rolling to allow Gary Hooper to open the scoring midway through the first half. But when Christiansen was asked if he blamed his summer signing, the Leeds boss refused to point the finger.

“If you tell me about a player who makes a perfect performance I will speak about that but to criticise one of my players, I’m not going to talk about that,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“We are going to analyse all the performances of all our players.”

It is admirable and common place for manager’s to refuse to publically call out a player for a below-par outing, with only a few boss’s opting to air their linen in public, but in this instance the interviewer was right to name the Leeds stopper.
Wiedwald fails to command his box as a Championship ‘keeper should, certainly one playing for a side with realistic ambitions of a top-six finish.
With a little more work Leeds could even finish in the automatic promotion places. Although that will only happen if Christiansen gets his team selections right week in, week out, with a change of stopper potentially high on his agenda whatever he tells reporters.
