Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has explained on the club’s official website how Mateusz Klich is going to improve the squad.

The West Yorkshire outfit recently completed the signing of Klich from Dutch club FC Twente on a three-year contract.

According to The Yorkshire Post, the Whites had to pay Twente a transfer fee of around £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the Poland international midfielder.

Leeds head coach Christiansen, who is 44 years of age and was recently appointed in the role following the departure of Garry Monk, has praised Klich and has explained how the 27-year-old will improve his squad.

“I’m very happy that we have been able to bring Mateusz to Leeds United,” Christiansen told Leeds’s official website. “He’s an exciting addition to the squad, with the ability to create and score goals.

“A player needs certain things to succeed in the Championship and we believe Mateusz has the quality and physical strength that will improve our squad.

“He has the desire and hunger to succeed, which we are looking for in the players we bring to Leeds.”

Klich is a very good midfielder, and the Poland international is going to enhance the current quality of the Leeds team.

The former 1. FC Kaiserslautern man has arrived at Elland Road with a strong reputation, and he could play a major role in Leeds’s quest to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.

The Whites narrowly failed to end up in the Championship playoffs during the 2016-17 season.
