Leeds United were thumped 3-0 by their Yorkshire rivals on Sunday.

Thomas Christiansen has told LUTV that he was surprised by Leeds United’s lack of reaction to going behind in Sunday’s 3-0 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds slipped to fifth in the Championship after suffering a second successive defeat as two first-half goals from Gary Hooper and another from Kieran Lee on 82 minutes subjected the Whites to a disappointing afternoon away to their Yorkshire rivals.

Hooper’s opener came on 25 minutes and it seemed to knock the wind out of United at a time when they needed a response, though they didn’t find one.
Asked on LUTV whether he was surprised by the lack of reaction, he said: “Yes, the reaction. We had to come back to the game but as I said it’s two situations which brings them into the game. We were soft and if in two situations you cannot stop these two things it’s difficult to win the game.”

It has certainly been an eye-opening last week for Leeds, who also lost 3-1 at Cardiff City on Tuesday, but there is still plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
This is merely a bad spell and Christiansen’s side will be judged about how they handle it. Fortunately for them, the international break comes at a decent time, but they simply must respond to these two setbacks by beating Reading on Saturday week.
