New Burnley striker Chris Wood did not play for Leeds United against Sunderland in the Championship at the weekend.
The West Yorkshire outfit returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday evening with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light.
Chris Wood did not play in the match, revealing on social networking site Twitter before the game that contract negotiations with a club in the Premier League club were going on.

The New Zealand international striker was one of the best players for Leeds last season, scoring 27 goals in the Championship.
Despite the absence of Wood from the match against Sunderland, Leeds won 2-0, thanks to goals from Samuel Saiz and Stuart Dallas.
Leeds head coach Christiansen has revealed what he told his players in the dressing room after the win against Sunderland.

“I don’t know if it’s the best performance so far but it comes in the best moment,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“As I said in the changing room, there is no-one above Leeds. Everyone works for the same goal. This proves that we are not winning because of individual players but as a team.”
Wood has now left Leeds for Burnley, with the Premier League club paying the Whites a transfer fee of £15 million in order to secure the services of the striker, according to BBC Sport.
