New Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen
Newly appointed Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has addressed the Elland Road faithful for the very first time on social media.
Christiansen’s arrival seemed to catch everyone off guard, with even the bookmakers left stumped until shortly before the news broke around Thursday lunch time.
The 44-year-old was known to only a select few Leeds fans before then, mostly from his time as a player at FC Barcelona, in the great Johan Cruyff side of the early 1990s.

Born in Denmark, Christiansen agreed to take up Spanish citizenship upon moving to Catalonia from Boldklubben af 1893, and went on to represent the Iberian nation on two occasions.
Since, then the former striker has turned out for a plethora of clubs, and was – alongside Giovane Elber – the Bundesliga’s top scorer during the 2002-03 campaign.

Christiansen turned to coaching after his retirement in 2006 and managed Cypriot side AEK Larnaca for two years prior to his appointment by league rivals APOEL Nicosia 12 months ago.
And after winning the league title in Cyprus, while also guiding APOEL to the last 16 of the Europa League, Christiansen is now ready to continue his success at Leeds United.
