Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has told The Yorkshire Evening Post he has the support of club chairman Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta.

The results and performances of the Whites in recent weeks have not been great, and the team have dropped out of the top six in the Championship table for the time being.

Christiansen was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer of 2017 following the departure of Garry Monk, who is now in charge of Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

Leeds are aiming to qualify for the Championship playoffs at least this season, and it is clear that results needs to improve.

While many would suspect that Christiansen is under pressure, the Leeds head coach has made it clear that he has the confidence of club chairman Radrizzani and director of football Orta.

The former Spain international striker has also revealed that he has spoken to his bosses following the team’s 2-1 defeat to Derby County at Elland Road in the Championship on Tuesday evening.

“It means a lot to have the support of the chairman and Victor (Orta) and all of the players,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “This is a project we are working on.

“We have time to work on this project and it is a project that we all believe in. We have had talks and they were satisfied with the performance.”

Leeds will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Brentford away from home at Griffin Park in the Championship.
