Both Leeds and Cardiff have made a bright start to their 2017/18 campaign, and find themselves locked in a tie at the top of the Championship table with 20 points from their opening nine games.
Christiansen said that he is expecting a tough game against a “strong” and “physical” team. He has labelled Cardiff as a “top team”, and said that Leeds need good results in their next two games.
Leeds are heading into this match on the back of a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday. Christiansen said that it is important that his team visit Wales in the best condition possible.
Cardiff are a strong team, and are unbeaten at home this season. Neil Warnock’s side will be heading into this fixture with full confidence after beating Sunderland 2-1 in their last game.
Last season, Leeds won 2-0 at Cardiff, and Christiansen will be hoping a similar result on Tuesday evening.
“All games have pressure but of course, the home game against Ipswich was important to make sure we go to Cardiff in the best condition,” said Christiansen, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post.
“Confidence is also important and the three points but Cardiff will be a different game, another tough game against a strong and physical team, another top team. We need two good results now to maintain our position.”
