Is Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson about to join Leeds United in the summer transfer window?

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen suggested on Sky Sports Football on Sunday evening (6:42pm) that the club are about to sign Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from Manchester United.

According to ESPN FC, Borthwick-Jackson has turned down the chance to join Dutch giants Ajax to move to Championship outfit Leeds in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the 20-year-old defender has agreed a loan deal with the West Yorkshire outfit, and that the left-back’s move will be confirmed in the coming days.

Leeds manager Christiansen appears to have confirmed that the England Under-20 international will join his team on loan, with the youngster having spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“We could, yes,” said Christiansen on Sky Sports Football on Sunday evening (6:42pm) when asked if one could expect Borthwick-Jackson to join Leeds on loan in the next few days.

Christiansen made the aforementioned remark about Borthwick-Jackson after Leeds’s win against Bolton Wanderers away from home on Sunday evening.

The Whites kicked off their 2017-18 Championship campaign with a 3-2 victory over Bolton at the Macron Stadium on Sunday evening.

Kalvin Phillips scored twice for Leeds against Bolton, while New Zealand international striker found the net once.
