Leeds United host Derby County in the Championship on Tuesday.

Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Cardiff City and Leeds United at Cardiff City Stadium on September 26, 2017 in Cardiff, Wales.

Thomas Christiansen has ruled a trio of Leeds United players out of Tuesday’s Championship visit of Derby County through injury.

Leeds are already without defender Gaetano Berardi and midfielder Kalvin Phillips for the game, in which they will be looking to arrest their current run of poor form.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post on Monday lunchtime, boss Christiansen said: “Liam Cooper will be out because of the problem he got [against Sheffield United on Friday].

“[Caleb] Ekuban joined the group yesterday so that is good. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is also still out.”

The Dane, who insisted Cooper’s injury isn’t serious, later went on to clarify Ekuban’s situation.

“It’s too early [for him to return],” he said of the Ghanaian striker. “He only came back yesterday.”

The Whites suffered their fifth defeat in six across all competitions against Sheffield United, but have held onto their play-off place regardless.

A win for Derby, though, would see the Rams overtake Christiansen’s fifth-place team and potentially drag them out of the top six.

Gary Rowett’s Rams are unbeaten in six Championship matches, and have won their last three in a row.

The Derbyshire outfit have a game in hand on Leeds, which only increases the pressure on the Whites to get a result at Elland Road.
