Felix Wiedwald made yet another error in Leeds United’s last outing.
Thomas Christiansen has been asked whether or not he will look to sign a new goalkeeper for Leeds United in January.
Senior shot-stoppers Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan have each had their issues this season, with Wiedwald in the spotlight again following last weekend’s howler which led to a goal for Queens Park Rangers.
Were it not for the German’s late save, however, Leeds may not have returned from Loftus Road with all three points. And Christiansen, it seems, is very much behind the man currently in possession of the gloves at Elland Road.
Discussing Wiedwald’s latest misdemeanour, the Dane told Leeds Live: “I passed the page already.
“He made one mistake but he also saved the team two important points when the score was 2-1 so I’m happy for that and I don’t look back on the bad things, but I’m positive and look for the good things he did and the team did.”
Asked whether he could still strengthen his options between the sticks, Christiansen added: “Well, I am happy with what I have.
“This is clear.”
He added:”I believe he has more confidence than before.
“I took him out so this is good for him and Andy is still there training very well and makes it difficult for me also.”
Leeds head into their home game against Norwich City this weekend four points off the play-offs in seventh position.
However, a win for the Whites and defeat for Sheffield United at Preston would leave Christiansen’s side ready to pounce a week on Saturday.
The West Yorkshire side topped the table in late September, but dropped out of the top six at the start of November.
