Nottingham Forest reportedly want to sign Liam Bridcutt from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that Liam Bridcutt will not leave the club in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, Forest are interested in signing Bridcutt from Championship rivals Leeds in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has not featured in the Championship so far this season and has fallen down the pecking order.

Leeds head coach Christiansen, though, has suggested that the Scotland international will not leave Elland Road, stating that the former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder remains part of his plan.

“I have only just heard about this,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post this afternoon when asked about Forest’s (reported) interest in Bridcutt.

“I have spoken to him and I believe in him. He is a captain for me, even if he is not in the team.”

Bridcutt is a good defensive midfielder and knows the Championship inside out, and the Scotsman would be important for Leeds as the season progresses.

There could be injuries, suspensions and poor form for other midfielders as the season progresses, which would allow the 28-year-old to show what he is capable of.

Leeds will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Championship.
