Manchester United youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is reportedly wanted by Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has spoken highly of Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson to BBC Radio Leeds.

Borthwick-Jackson is on the books of Premier League giants United at the moment, but the defender has been linked with a move to Championship club Leeds in the summer transfer window.

According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites are interested in signing the 20-year-old left-back on a season-long loan deal, but they have yet to make an approach.

The England Under-20 international did not have a great time during a loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship last season, but the youngster has experience of playing in the Premier League with United.

Leeds head coach Christiansen has spoken highly of Borthwick-Jackson, and has suggested that the defender could make the move to Elland Road in the summer transfer window.

“I have seen him a few times, and he’s a very good player, a homegrown player, so this is also important,” Christiansen told BBC Radio Leeds when asked about Borthwick-Jackson. “We have to wait.”

Borthwick-Jackson is a very good and talented young defender, and the 20-year-old would be a good addition to the current Leeds team.

The West Yorkshire outfit will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season after narrowly failing to clinch a playoff spot during the 2016-17 campaign.
