Leeds United beat Harrogate Town 4-2 in a friendly this afternoon.
Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has told the club’s official Twitter account that he was happy with his side’s performance against Harrogate Town.
Leeds kickstarted their pre-season preparations with a 4-2 win over Harrogate in a behind-closes-doors friendly at Thorp Arch this afternoon as new boss Christiansen starts his task.

Kemar Roofe opened the scoring for Leeds from the penalty spot, with Madger Gomes and Pablo Hernandez adding goals to make it 3-0.
Jordan Thewlis and Ben Pollock pulled goals back for Harrogate, but Lee Erwin sealed a 4-2 victory with a late goal to wrap up the victory.
With just a month to go until the start of the Championship season, Christiansen has plenty of preparing to do, and he will be pleased to have kicked off with a victory this afternoon.
Christiansen was able to field two different XI’s in today’s game, giving his players 45 minutes each to impress him ahead of the new season – and he spoke about the victory after the final whistle.

The Spaniard, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account, suggested that he was very satisfied with the performance, impressing with the build-up play – but he wasn’t happy with conceding two goals.
Christiansen added that competition for places is high, and more signings will arrive too, whilst he noted that it was great to be taking charge of Leeds for the first time, even in a friendly.
