Leeds United returned for pre-season training on Monday.
Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has told the club’s official website that he is ‘really happy’ with how his first day of pre-season training went.
Christiansen, 44, was appointed as the new Leeds manager earlier this month as he was brought in to replace now-Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk following his shock resignation.

The Spaniard arrives having won the Cypriot league title with APOEL Nicosia last season, as well as taking them to the last 16 of the Europa League, but he is still something of an unknown for many fans.
Leeds returned to the training pitch on Monday to begin their pre-season preparations, and really begin work under new manager Christiansen.
Christiansen spoke to the club’s official website after his first session with the Leeds squad, and admitted that he was ‘really happy’ with what he saw from a team with ‘a good atmosphere’.

The former Barcelona striker added that he wants his players to prepared mentally and physically for the opening day of the Championship season, when Leeds will be taking on newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers.
Last week, Leeds made their first signing of the Christiansen era by snapping up Polish international midfielder Mateusz Klich, and the Leeds boss suggested that he is a ‘very good player’ and will improve the squad at Elland Road.
“The first day went as expected, the players wanted to come back and prove they are worthy to stay at Leeds United and find a place in the first eleven,” said Christiansen. “From what I saw on day one, I am really happy, I see a good team with a good atmosphere, willing to go strong in the training.
“Our aim is to arrive in the best condition on the 6th August against Bolton Wanderers, that is the target and we will increase everything as pre-season progresses. The players will get to know how I think and want them to play, we included a lot of different concepts into our exercises already and this will go on every day. I have a way I would like the players to play, so it is important for them to understand that and practise it.”
“Very pleased, he’s a very good player. He adds to the squad that we have, and this is the most important thing – that all the signings that we do, it is to add and to improve the level of the team,” he added.
