Leeds United are in Austria at the moment.
The West Yorkshire outfit are in Austria at the moment as part of their pre-season training ahead of the 2017-18 Championship campaign.
The Championship club will also play a couple of friendly matches while they are in Austria – against German side Borussia Monchengladbach and Spanish outfit Eibar.
Christiansen, who was appointed the Leeds head coach earlier this summer following the departure of Garry Monk – who is now in charge of Championship rivals Middlesbrough – has explained how the team is preparing in Austria.
“The team bonding is very important, it is pre-season so we have to work hard and we need to improve things, by coming away it gives us the opportunity to do that,” Christiansen told Leeds’s official website.
“We will show the team videos, they will all have individual talks and everything that is good for the team.”
Leeds were supposed to play a friendly match against FC Ingolstadt on Sunday, but it got cancelled, and Christiansen has admitted his disappointment.
“It really affects us, because we only found out 48 hours before that the game was cancelled,” said Christiansen.
“You don’t have time to make any changes that late and I am very sorry for the fans who are coming to support us and see the games. It is not our fault that this has happened, but we will try to do something for them.”
Leeds narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship last season and will be determined to clinch a playoff spot during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Whites have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far and have made a number of signings, including midfielder Mateusz Klich, goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald and attacker Ezgjan Alioski.
