Lee Erwin played well for Leeds United against Guiseley in a pre-season friendly match on Saturday.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he was impressed with the performance of Lee Erwin at the weekend.

Erwin featured for Leeds in a pre-season friendly match against Guiseley at Nethermoor Park on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old forward produced a good display against the National League side and scored twice in the 5-1 victory for the Championship club.

The former Scotland Under-19 international found the target first in the 58th minute and then in the 89th minute.

Leeds head coach Christiansen was impressed with the performance of Erwin against Guiseley.

“The most important thing for a striker – I was a striker – is the goals,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Erwin.

“You get measured by the goals and they were a typical number nine’s goals where you have to be there in the right place at the right moment.”

Erwin joined Leeds in the summer of 2015 after leaving Scottish club Motherwell at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

According to The Daily Mail, the Whites, who were then managed by Uwe Rosler, had to pay Motherwell a development fee of around £300,000 in order to secure the services of the youngster.

The Scotsman has failed to make an impact at Leeds, spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Oldham Athletic following loan spell at Bury in 2015.
