Leeds United striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Leeds United marched on after earning a resilient 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Elland Road on Saturday.
With this win, Leeds maintain their position at the top of the Championship table, and are locked in a tie with Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, both hold 20 points after nine games.
Leeds responded brilliantly after their defeat away at Millwall during the previous weekend – their only defeat of the season so far, and once again summer signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga impressed.
The 25-year-old striker joined Leeds this summer on loan from the Bundesliga club Hamburg, and has made a strong impact.
He opted to play against Ipswich, despite his first child arriving on Friday night. After the game, he travelled back to Germany.
Lasogga scored in the 13th minute of the match for Leeds – his third goal in four starts since moving to Elland Road in the summer.
Thomas Christiansen was full of praise for the striker, and has rightly labelled him as a “goal-getter”. He added that the best part of his game is that he puts the ball in the net whenever he gets the opportunity.
“He’s a goal-getter,” Christiansen said, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post. “When he gets the opportunities he seems to put them in and that’s a good thing. It’s a good thing that we have him and he’s having success in front of goal.”
