Andy Lonergan joined Leeds United in the summer transfer window after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Lonergan joined Leeds late in the summer transfer window after leaving Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper was signed by the West Yorkshire outfit as a replacement for Robert Green, who switched to Premier League club Huddersfield Town in the summer.
The former England Under-20 international was on the books of Leeds during the 2011-12 season.

Lonergan will have to fight for his place in Leeds’s starting lineup, with summer signing Felix Wiedwald having firmly established himself as the first-choice custodian.
Leeds head coach Christiansen has praised Lonergan’s attitude and is quoted as saying by The Yorkshire Evening Post: “Very good player, good attitude, he wants to be part of the team, try to fight for the position in the first XI, and from what I have seen in the week he has been with us, he has been very good, and this is something very positive for the team.”

Leeds have made a strong start to the 2017-18 Championship campaign and are among the favourites to finish in the top six.
Lonergan is a good goalkeeper, but the former England Under-20 international is going to find it hard to establish himself as a regular in the Whites’ starting lineup.
