Leeds United won against Oxford United at Elland Road at the weekend.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that he was not entirely happy with the performance of his side against Oxford United at the weekend.

Championship club Leeds got the better of League One outfit Oxford 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Kemar Roofe put the West Yorkshire outfit in the lead in the 35th minute, and Stuart Dallas doubled the advantage for the Whites on 84 minutes.

Although Leeds head coach Christiansen was pleased with the final result and his team’s overall performance, there was one aspect of the game which he wants to improve upon – being good with the ball.

“Until now, I am very happy,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “I am satisfied with the performances of my team.

“This was the last one in this pre-season and it went well. We still have to things to learn and we saw that we weren’t so good with the ball as we should be.

“But that gives us things to work on and generally I was happy with the team and that we kept the goal to zero and that we played here at home in front of our fans. That was very nice.”

Leeds have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, signing midfielder Mateusz Klich and goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald among others.

The Whites narrowly missed out on a place in the playoffs last season, and they will be determined to finish in the top six this campaign.

If results are good in the opening weeks and months of the season, then perhaps Leeds could even challenge for the automatic promotion places.
