Leeds United will face Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the Championship on Sunday.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that Caleb Ekuban could feature against Middlesbrough this weekend.

The Whites will take on Boro at Elland Road in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Christiansen has suggested that striker Ekuban will be part of the squad for the match.

The 22-year-old has not played a competitive game of football for three months after breaking a bone in his foot in August.

The Ghanaian forward joined Leeds from Chievo in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £500,000.

“I am very pleased,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Ekuban. “He has been working for two or three weeks now without any problems and going every day better. He will probably have a possibility to be in the squad.”

Christiansen’s update on Ekuban should be positive news for Leeds fans, as he will have a talented and promising young striker to call upon against Middlesbrough.

Of course, no one should expect the youngster to score a hat-trick or a brace against Boro, but he could make an impact if he comes on as a late substitute against Garry Monk’s team at Elland Road.
