Leeds United have signed Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window.

As announced on Middlesbrough’s official website, Leeds have had to pay £4.5 million as transfer fee in order to secure the services of the 26-year-old midfielder.
Christiansen has explained the reasoning behind the decision to sign the former Everton prospect, suggesting that the move was not something they had been planning for a while.
The Leeds head coach has also suggested that the Championship club could sign more players between now and the end of the January transfer window.

“Well, of course it was not our priority in that situation,” Christiansen told Leeds Live when asked if it had always been the intention to sign a midfielder. “But as the situation goes by, the opportunity sometimes comes because we didn’t know that he could be on the market.
“And when that came that was a good opportunity to sign a strong and good player with experience that will help the team.
“And of course looking back to the red card of Eunan, we also know that Kalvin has nine yellow cards that he will miss with the next yellow card two games. All these things to have in mind.”
“If somebody will come more, we will see but now we focus on the players we have and also a reminder that we have signed 15 players until now since we came in June so that’s a lot of players and we need also to give some trust to them,” added Christiansen.

Forshaw is a very good midfielder who is hugely experienced, and by signing the 26-year-old, Leeds have enhanced their chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season.
If the Whites can put together a run of positive results, then they could even launch a challenge for the second and final automatic promotion spot.
Leeds will take on Millwall at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
