Leeds United are set to see their defensive ranks bolstered in the near future, with players coming back from injury.
Thomas Christiansen has confirmed two pieces of good injury news for Leeds United at his latest press conference.
The Leeds boss suggested that Liam Cooper has shaken off a knock, and will be in the Whites’ squad to take on Sunderland at the weekend.
Christiansen also confirmed that Gaetano Berardi is on the verge of making his comeback, but Matthew Pennington still has a way to go.
Cooper has missed Leeds’ last two matches with injury, and his return should boost Christiansen’s options in defence.
Berardi and Pennington, meanwhile, have been out injured since the first game of the season.
The pair both picked up problems during Leeds’ 3-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers.
In their absences, Leeds have still managed to cope well, and they have only conceded two goals in their first three Championship matches.
The Whites remain unbeaten in competitive games so far this term, but they face a tough test tomorrow against a Sunderland side who have also performed well.
