Leeds United lost against Cardiff City in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United’s poor run of form continued on Saturday afternoon, as they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Cardiff City at Elland Road in the Championship.
Cardiff were the better team from start to finish and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.
The West Yorkshire outfit’s task of winning against Neil Warnock’s side was made harder in first-half injury time due to the sending-off of Gaetano Berardi.
The 29-year-old, who can operate as a right-back or as a left-back, was dismissed for two bookable offences.
Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen was not impressed with the Swiss defender, who has been on the books of the Championship club since 2014.

Christiansen told Leeds Live about Berardi’s red card: “Well, it’s a problem that we are having lately.
“It’s difficult to deal with, when we speak about the emotions, the passion that Berard puts into the game. We know that all the tackles he goes 100% but we need to be intelligent.
“It’s a situation where he already has one yellow card and when you go to the ground it’s because you are 100% sure to take the ball. If not, you continue staying and when you have the possibility to steal the ball you go in.”

The defeat to Cardiff means that Leeds are now 10th in the Championship table with 44 points from 30 matches.
The Whites are seven points behind sixth-placed Bristol City, and the signs are not looking great. Leeds need to put together a run of positive results soon.
