Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has suggested to BBC Radio Leeds that Pontus Jansson will be in the team for the match against Cardiff City.

Jansson is one of the best players in the current Leeds squad, but the Sweden international central defender did not feature in their Championship game against Ipswich Town at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

The West Yorkshire outfit won the game 3-2 and will take on Cardiff away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship on Tuesday evening.

Leeds head coach Christiansen has suggested that the 26-year-old centre-back will be in the team for the game against the Bluebirds.

Christiansen has also said that Vurnon Anita is fine. The 28-year-old, who can operate as a full-back or as a defensive midfielder, was substituted after 60 minutes against Ipswich.

The Leeds boss told BBC Radio Leeds on Saturday: “Anita was okay. Everything is fine. Pontus will be with the team tomorrow. It’s okay.”

Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 20 points from nine matches, level on points with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff City, who are second and third respectively in the standings.
