Leeds United tasted defeat for the first time this season on Saturday.

Speaking to LUTV, Thomas Christiansen has refused to criticise his Leeds United team following a limp performance in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat away to Millwall.
Christiansen’s side remain top of the Championship but Leeds posted an uncharacteristically-poor display at The Den, in comparison to their other showings this season.
The Whites had 14 goals in seven league outings before yesterday – the highest in the division – but they looked nowhere near their sharpest going forward and were undone by a 73rd-minute winner from Aiden O’Brien for what was their first defeat of the campaign.

Nevertheless, Leeds fans were still singing even after the final whistle in a gesture which might illustrate that the defeat has done little to detract from the feel-good vibes surrounding United’s season so far.
And although Christiansen is disappointed, the 44-year-old, who replaced Garry Monk in June, is not throwing the baby out with the bath water, insisting he remains “thankful” to his players for the season as a whole so far.
“I cannot complain about them,” he told LUTV.

“We are where we are because of them and how good they have done. After one bad game it’s not right to judge them, but [it’s right] to be thankful.”
Leeds face Premier League side Burnley in a third-round League Cup clash at Turf Moor on Tuesday, before resuming league commitments by hosting Ipswich at Elland Road on Saturday.
