Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen admits he’s got some disappointed personnel.

Thomas Christiansen has told Radio Yorkshire that he understands the disappointment of Jay-Roy Grot, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Mateusz Klich but revealed they simply don’t add much to the squad at the moment.
Grot, Borthwick-Jackson and Klich have struggled for game time in recent weeks months, with the latter two earning a total of 201 minutes of Championship between them.
All three were omitted from the squad for Leeds’ 4-1 defeat away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek and Borthwick-Jackson and Klich won’t travel for the visit to Barnsley this afternoon.

None of those three have looked particularly impressive when given chances this season, though Klich had a decent game in the League Cup win over Burnley in September, and Christiansen says that although the trio are frustrated, they don’t deserve to take anyone’s place in the squad for now.
He told Radio Yorkshire when asked specifically about those three: “The thing is I have a good squad and I have to leave players out. I know they’ve been out for a long time but if they come back in then I have to take somebody else out.
“I’m thinking of the possibilities during the game, if we score a goal or lose a goal, and this is why I make these decisions.

“Of course they are disappointed. I’d be disappointed as well. But this is part of football. One second you’re out and one second you’re in.”
Borthwick-Jackson, 20, is only on loan from Manchester United, while Grot is 19 and could arguably be considered one for the future, but Klich’s continued absence is the most puzzling.
At 27, the Poland international is an established footballer who commanded a £1.5 million transfer fee when Leeds signed him from FC Twente, so it seems odd that he isn’t getting a look-in.
