Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that Everton could be lining up Jose Mourinho.
On Monday night, Everton ended an eight-game winless run in the Premier League to slightly ease pressure on those at the club.
But it hasn’t been rosy in the Goodison Park garden this season, which has seen Rafa Benitez, amongst other board members, come under serious pressure.
That resulted in the Mirror suggesting that the Toffees could turn to Mourinho as a possible replacement if Benitez goes.
Now, whilst they beat Arsenal yesterday, another defeat will only change the mood back the other way.
Liverpool fans have got history with Mourinho, from his days at Chelsea and Manchester United, and it would add some serious spice to the Merseyside derby if he were to ever join.
Of course, a lot has to happen for that situation to take place, the first being Benitez to be given the boot.
Given Benitez’s Liverpool past, it’s no surprise that he is in such a situation where there is huge pressure on his shoulders and he’s not even been in the job for six months.
That 4-1 defeat to Liverpool didn’t help matters, and everything that has happened over the years, is still not forgotten by the club’s supporters.
