Some Arsenal fans on social media are getting very excited over links to Hibernian’s 18-year-old left-back Josh Doig.
The teenager has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days, and Gunners fans are certainly keen to see him brought in.
As we all know, Arsenal have had some joy when buying left-backs from Scotland in the past with Kieran Tierney quickly establishing himself as a key player in Mikel Arteta’s squad after arriving from Celtic.
Arsenal fans were quick to draw comparisons between Doig and Tierney, while others were excited after seeing him play a few games for Hibs this season.
Arsenal are certainly in the market for a left-back after being linked to the likes of Ryan Bertrand and Tyrick Mitchell in recent days, but the links to Doig seem to have the fanbase more excited than any other rumours.
Whether or not this one gets over the line remains to be seen, but if Doig is brought in, it’s a signing that the fanbase will welcome with open arms.
