Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting to reports that Sokratis is set to join Serie A outfit Genoa this month.

The Greek centre-half has fallen out of favour at Arsenal, being left out of Mikel Arteta’s 25-man Premier League squad this season, so it’s no surprise to see him on his way in January.

As you can imagine, there were mixed reactions in the Arsenal fanbase when this story emerged.

Some supporters were rather happy to see Sokratis leave due to the fact he’s not been playing and he’s going to free up some space on the wage bill for a potential arrival, with Arsenal still heavily linked with Norwich’s Emi Buendia.

However, some others were more sad to see him go.

Indeed, despite Sokratis not being the most consistent performer for Arsenal over the past 12 months, fans were still sympathetic towards him, wishing him all the best and saying that he deserves to be at a club where he is going to get a game.

Hopefully, Sokratis joins Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the list of ex-Arsenal players who are able to re-invent themselves in Serie A.

Here’s what the Gunners fanbase have been saying about Sokratis to Genoa on social media…
